The XML Summer School 2005 is a
5-day residential course at Wadham
College, University of Oxford.
|
|
Wadham College was founded in 1612 according
to the terms of the will of Nicholas Wadham, who died in 1609.
It is situated within six acres of beautiful grounds in the
heart of Oxford.
The hall at Wadham is one of the largest
in Oxford, and is notable for its great hammer-beam roof and
for the Jacobean woodwork of the entrance screen. The portraits
include those of the founders and of distinguished members
of the college. Notable members of the college in its early
years include Robert Blake, Cromwell's admiral and founder
of British sea-power in the Mediterranean, and Sir Christopher
Wren.
