Programme

The XML Summer School has an established faculty of subject chairs who plan the curriculum offered to the delegates each year. The programme runs with three tracks, to provide a rich learning experience for delegates with any level of background knowledge:

2-day Hands-on Introduction
The two-day Hands-on Introduction (including the XML Primer) is ideal for newcomers to XML or those who want to brush up on their skills before moving to the more advanced subjects on the other tracks.
Technical Track
The Technical Track is an opportunity to explore important topics in more detail, with some of the leading figures in the world of XML, RDF and the Semantic Web, Content & Knowledge Management, Web Services, XSLT, XSL-FO, Information Modelling and other Trends and Transients in XML related technology. Each seminar lasts a whole day and gives delegates the chance to gain insight into subject areas that are of specific interest to them, providing a platform to talk with industry experts and other delegates with similar interests or problems.
Applications Track
The Applications Track is made up of one/two day seminars focused in specific market sectors - e-Government, Healthcare, News and Media, and also includes a Practical Introduction to Ontologies and OWL. These seminars are chaired by industry experts and are aimed specifically at delegates who need to apply the latest tools, techniques, systems and thinking in industry focused settings.

Sessions are a mixture of formal presentations, practical hands-on exercises and panel discussions with some of the world's leading industry experts. If you need to learn all there is to know about XML and related topics, then the XML Summer School is the place for you.
