The
Expert Forum is an opportunity for leading experts to meet and debate
important issues in their field, both with each other and with an
audience eager to learn some of the inside tracks and forthcoming
trends in the XML world. The aim is to be informative, controversial
and entertaining.
Each forum lasts a full day, is chaired by an industry
expert and is structured with short presentations, discussion
sessions and interactive exercises. Proceedings from the forum,
including the results of the interactive exercises, will be published
alongside the presentation materials from the invited experts.
RDF and the Semantic Web - 30th July
Of all the new technologies that have emerged in the last ten years
of web-mania, the ones collectively described as Semantic Web technologies
are potentially the most exciting. These technologies have the potential
for turning the terabytes of chaotic content on the web into a knowledge
bank that can fuel the next generation of reasoning and inference
engines.
This year's expert forum will be chaired by the inimitable Peter
Flynn and feature many of the leading lights in the world of the
Semantic Web. Come and hear them discuss the state-of-the-art and
make your contribution as to where the technology should move in
the years ahead.
