Hosted by CSW Group, The XML Summer School goes beyond that of a traditional XML training course, offering delegates a unique learning experience in the heart of Oxford.





The five-day residential course brings together some of the world's leading industry experts to deliver an informative and challenging curriculum which is devised for maximum learning. Split into three tracks, the curriculum is flexible, so that delegates can combine seminars giving them a truly tailor made learning programme.
Each track is broken into seminars which cover topics in-depth. This year these include:
The Full Summer School Package
This option allows you to combine lessons from any track and includes five nights accommodation, all meals, refreshments and evening excursions.
Introductory Track
This is appropriate for newcomers or delegates that want to brush up on their skills. The topics will include:
- XML Primer - Brief introductory session: Sunday pm
- Hands on Introduction to XML* - 3 day course
* Course includes 3 nights accommodation starting the night before the course starts, all meals, refreshments and evening excursions.
Foundations Track
This offers an opportunity to explore topics relating to the foundational technologies used in XML. Aimed at a more technical audience, the topics will include:
- Content and Knowledge with XML* - 2 day course
- Trends and Transients in XML - 1 day course
- XSLT, XSL-FO and XQuery* - 2 day course
* Courses include 2 nights accommodation starting the night before the course starts, all meals, refreshments and evening excursions.
Applications Track
This focuses on the use of XML and related technologies in specific market sectors. Aimed at delegates who need to apply the latest tools and techniques. The topics will include:
- Building XML Applications - 1 day course
- XML in Healthcare* - 2 day course
- Web Services and Identity* - 2 day course
* Courses include 2 nights accommodation starting the night before the course starts, all meals, refreshments and evening excursions.
Teaching at Oxford is based on the tutorial system, where students can combine formal lectures with time spent in small groups, with tutor's expert in their chosen subjects. The XML Summer School follows this model and aims to provide delegates with a unique opportunity to sample the life of an undergraduate at Oxford University.
