The XML Summer School residential packages include evening events, allowing delegates time to relax and experience some of the delights Oxford has to offer.
The social events provide the ideal platform for networking with your fellow delegates or extracting information from the speakers on a one-to-one basis. Some delegates argue that the networking and learning experiences outside the classroom are as valuable as that in the classroom.
The provisional social events for 2009 will include:
Sunday: A welcome reception at Wadham College
Monday: Summer supper and punting down the River Cherwell
Tuesday: Formal dinner at Queen's College, University of Oxford with a delegate photograph in the grounds
Wednesday: tbc
Thursday: Exclusive guided tours of the Ashmolean museum followed by a formal dinner in the catacombes of the world's first university museum.
